JKA Scotland held our National Championships on Saturday, 29th February 2020, at Dunfermline High School in Dunfermline. Students travelled from across many of JKA Scotland Dojo’s to challenge themselves and demonstrate the hard work that they have all put into their training over the year since the last national championships were held.
Students of varied ages from the very young age of 5 years old to the older, more experienced students, competing in the veteran’s category, demonstrated the true meaning of Budo karate. They displayed excellent competitive spirit, friendliness, respect for each and every competitor and judge but still had that fierce determination to give 100% to try and win.
The entrance donations raised a total amount of £130 which this year went to the Scottish Air Ambulance service. Thanks to all the spectators for their generosity.
JKA Scotland would like to thanks the referees and table assistants for giving up their time to support the running of the championships, the medics who were in attendance for the full day, Dunfermline High School for the venue, the mums for doing the tuck shop with Tesco North Berwick for their donations to the tuck shop and the parents, friends and families who came to support on the day. Lastly, the competitors, you all made this day what it was and without you we would not have an event.
