JKA Karate Do Shotokan (Scotland)
Summer National Gasshuku 2014
Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August
Course Instructors from left to right: Kurasako Sensei, Ohta Sensei and Takahashi Sensei
Over the weekend of Friday 29th to Sunday 31st
August students from all over Scotland came together for the JKA Karate
Do Shotokan (Scotland) Summer Gasshuku 2014.
The August national course offered quality instruction
from world class JKA instructors. The instructors for the 2014 course
were the following:
Kurasako Sensei 7th Dan – JKA HQ Instructor
Ohta Sensei 7th Dan – JKA England
Takahashi Sensei 6th Dan – JKA HQ Instructor
Over the three days training classes were broken into three groups Black Belts, Brown Belts and Colour Belts. Each day’s three hours training was split into two sessions of 1-1/2 hours. Each instructor rotated around the groups after each session with three separate training halls for classes being used over the weekend.
Those training on the course took the opportunity to train with three top JKA instructors over the weekend. The instructors all worked on various aspects of Kihon, Kata and Kumite over the three days structuring each session so as each lessons important points were built on and practiced during the classes. With all three instructors making a big effort to make sure everyone understood each session’s important points and all attending training hard and keen to learn, it made for a great environment for students to gain more knowledge and understanding to take away and practice back at their own dojos.
The following is a selection of photographs from the weekend’s course:
Following the conclusion of the three days training on the Sunday there was a short presentation to the Instructors thanking them for their exceptional instruction over the three days.
JKA Karate Do Shotokan (Scotland) would like to thank all three instructors for their efforts over the three days and making it a very enjoyable and successful weekend
